Two days of lectures, workshops and meetings
On 13 May, the event was officially opened by the University of Lodz Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Education, Dr hab. Robert Zakrzewski, Associate Professor, Director of the University of Lodz Doctoral School of Social Sciences, Dr hab. Ilona Świątek Barylska, Associate Professor, and the Dean of the Faculty of Management at the University of Lodz, Dr hab. Tomasz Czapla, Associate Professor.
On the first day of the event, participants attended a number of lectures, training sessions and workshops. These included training on how to present oneself well when speaking in front of the camera, practical aspects of doctoral school training, setting up international collaborations, funding and research, working with a supervisor and tools, ways and tips for organising scientific work. Participants also took part in an expert panel on the popularisation of science, taking into account its social mission and the essence of undertaking popularisation activities.

The panels and training sessions scheduled as part of the 7th Doctoral Day were conducted by:
Dr Mariusz Gogól – a special guest of the event, who is a biologist, a biochemist, a science populariser and an educator associated with the Spokesmen of Science from the beginning of its activity; Łukasz Orzechowski, Justyna Tomaszewska, Oliwia Nadarzycka, Michał Gruda, Dr Bela Fiser, Aygun Kam, Gabriela Szkup, Prof. Dr hab.Sylwia Wojtczak, Dr Bartłomiej Kurzyk, Dr Agata Matuszewska-Kubicz, Monika Wilanowska, Dr Mateusz Grabowski, Justyna Gumulak.
At the end of the first day of the event, Doctoral School candidates took part in the "Open Doors Day" of Doctoral Schools. During the meetings, they got familiar with the specifics of training at the various doctoral schools, the principles of recruitment, and the pro-doctoral solutions operating at the University of Lodz.
The event was attended by nearly 50 participants – students, doctoral students and employees of the University of Lodz and the Medical University of Lodz.
During the second day of the event, the Talking Science Competition for students and doctoral students of the University of Lodz and the Medical University of Lodz was held. The aim of the competition is to popularise science and research conducted by students and doctoral students. The Competition Juries selected the winners and the audience chose the winners of special awards.

Summary
The 7th Doctoral Day undoubtedly constituted an event that integrated the entire academic community of the University of Lodz and the Medical University of Lodz. This is because it was attended by students, graduates, doctoral students and staff from both universities. The bilingual path of the event also enabled international participants to actively take part in the training sessions and lectures.
It should also be emphasised that the Talking Science Competition is a special part of the day, which is an event that many academics from both universities look forward to every year. The competition develops the popularising talents of many students and doctoral students. It will be remembered by its participants as a time of fruitful exchange of ideas and inspiration, contributing to the further development of the scientific community in Lodz.
