Prof. Antoni Różalski prezesem Łódzkiego Towarzystwa Naukowego

The General Assembly of the Lodz Scientific Society (in Polish: Łódzkie Towarzystwo Naukowe) has elected Prof. Antoni Różalski for a further fourth term as President of the organisation. Prof. Różalski has held the position continuously since 2015. The election was made on Monday, 20 May of the current year, unanimously, in a secret ballot. Congratulations!

Antoni Różalski graduated from high school in Pińczów, and in 1976 from the Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences of the University of Lodz, where he studied biology. In 1984 he obtained a PhD degree in Natural Sciences. He obtained his habilitation in 1991 at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. In 1996, was conferred the title of Professor of Biological Sciences. He specialises in immunobiology, immunochemistry and microbiology. Prof. Różalski has been professionally associated with the University of Lodz since 1976. He became the head of the Department of Bacterial Immunobiology at the Institute of Microbiology and Immunology of the University of Lodz in 1997. He held the position of the Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection of the University of Lodz from 2002 to 2008. He was appointed Vice-Rector for Science in 2008, and in 2014, simultaneously, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Course of Studies. He was elected Rector of the University of Lodz for a four-year term in 2016.

The Lodz Scientific Society integrates the scientific community of Lodz, supports the development of science as well as disseminates knowledge, technology and art among the inhabitants of Lodz. Currently, the Lodz Scientific Society consists of 6 faculties: linguistics, literary studies and philosophy; historical and social sciences; mathematics and natural sciences; medical sciences; technical sciences and the faculty of art and art sciences.
