The DEADLINE exhibition (Embracing Transience – "Deadline" Exhibition by Tomasz Ferenc), which we host at the university's Wozownia 1/5 Gallery at the Biedermann’s Palace, has resulted in scientific considerations related to transience. During the closing discussion, the speakers will answer questions related to:

the human fascination with death, including the increasingly popular phenomenon of thanatourism (dark tourism), i.e. visiting places associated with death, e.g. cemeteries, disasters, etc.;

the image of death in culture and the contemporary commercialisation and pornography of death understood as the media's exposure of images of violent (and often brutal) deaths, with a simultaneous lack of interest in natural death;

strategies for transience, i.e. how we deal with inevitability and how we rationalise the meaning of existence.
