Nowa Strefa studencka w samym sercu kampusu UŁ już otwarta!

The modern and friendly space on the ground floor of the University of Lodz Library, intended for work and relaxation, was officially opened on 7 October of the current year by students – ambassadors of the University of Lodz Library and the Director of the Library, Tomasz Piestrzyński in the presence of the University of Lodz Vice-Rector for Education, Dr hab. Małgorzata Wrzesień, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz, Vice-Rector for Popularisation of Science and Education, Dr hab. Krzysztof Pabis, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz, and Anna Rolczak, Deputy Chancellor of the University of Lodz.

The space with separate areas of 200 m², which has been created in cooperation with students of the University of Lodz, will be open 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. The zone is equipped with workstations for individual and group learning, lockable rooms for team work with the possibility of remote booking, as well as a kitchenette and places to relax – comfortable sets of pouffes, a sofa and even... stationary bikes, thanks to which you can charge your phone or a laptop. Finally, it is a place where you will find a rich collection of comic books and board games.

The entire investment was financed from the central funds of the University of Lodz. It cost PLN 600,000. We feel convinced that the zone will quickly become one of the important and attractive points on the map of the university campus, as well as a place where students, but also the entire academic community will find good conditions to work and relax. In other words, all users of the new space will feel at home here!

– said during the opening Tomasz Piestrzyński, Director of the University of Lodz Library.
