During the seminar, experts and researchers will present key issues related to contemporary India, taking into account both its internal transformations and international position. The topics will include the specificity and contrasts between northern and southern India, the country's historical politics, the relationship between myths and politics, and changes in Hinduism and its relations with the government. The event participants will also have the opportunity to delve into issues related to India's international position and its relations with the US, Russia and China. A Hindi and Urdu language workshop, during which participants will learn the basics of both languages will constitute additional attraction of the event.

The event will be held under the patronage of the Department of Asian Studies, University of Lodz, the Centre for Asian Affairs, the University of Lodz Library and the Faculty of International Relations, University of Białystok.
