The inauguration of the academic year 2024/2025 will begin with a speech by Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, Rector of the Lodz University of Technology, who will present, among other things, selected scientific and cultural initiatives of the Lodz scientific community, as well as opportunities for implementing international research programmes.
The inaugural lecture entitled "Po co nam czternasta Alicja? Czyli o sensie ponowionych przekładów" [Why do we need the fourteenth Alice? That is, the meaning of retranslations] will be delivered by Prof. Jerzy Jarniewicz from the Faculty of Philology, University of Lodz, who is a poet, a translator, a literary scholar and the winner of the 2022 NIKE Literary Award.
We would like to invite members of the University of Lodz Senate, representatives of students and doctoral students, the University Council, Directors of doctoral schools and the Rector’s Representatives to participate in the event.
The ceremony will be broadcast by the Multimedia Centre Lodz University of Technology.
